Get Out & Fly! Find AirCraft Structures in Your Area

Written by DroneBase | Dec 7, 2017 6:24:13 PM

A large part of our mission with AirCraft is to give both professional and hobbyist pilots more reasons to fly their drone, whether for commercial or creative purposes. With our new technology, pilots can leverage augmented reality to craft structures that range from practical (like waypoints in the sky) to creative (like a drone racecourse).

The possibilities are endless, and we want to inspire our pilots to start creating and exploring the world above the horizon.

So much so, that we've already placed giant structures in cities across the US - especially cities with higher concentrations of drone pilots! Below, we've listed out the first few locations where we've dropped in our Augmented Reality structures for you to interact with.

California

Los Angeles - The LA Dodgers have an AR logo above the stadium! You won't be able to fly directly over the stadium - but you'll be able to find it from a distance!

Other locations:

  • San Francisco - Find our giant panda over Golden Gate Park Zoo
  • Los Angeles - You might find some minions and dinosaurs flying above their home at Univeral Studios! Like the Dodgers logo, pilots cannot fly directly over the studios but the structures can be seen from a significant distance.

Texas

The Houston, TX Farmers Market is in for a big surprise - a giant chicken above the grounds! Find this structure at 16756 Westheimer Pkwy, Houston, TX 77082.

The Texas Motor Speedway has another car in the race! Find our red racing car at 3545 Lone Star Cir, Fort Worth, TX 76177.

Florida

We've dropped some minions near their home: Universal Studios. While pilots can't fly directly over the parks, these larger-than-life structures are visible from a significant distance.

Colorado

For our friends in chilly Colorado, head over to Boulder Creek Park! You'll find the AirCraft logo at 101 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder, CO 80302.

Georgia

We've placed one lonely Minecraft-reminiscent ghost above Piedmont Park in Atlanta.  Who's up for the task of creating more?

Your Challenge

It's time to get outside, start flying, and start creating. Use these structures as inspiration for your next build. The first handful of pilots that head out to one of these locations and sends us a photo of our structures (and any additions you've made to our build) will receive a drone landing pad and additional DroneBase swag.

Post your photos via Instagram or Twitter using #DBaircraft or email us at hello@dronebase.com

iOS users, start flying today! Android users, stay tuned.
