The DroneBase team has been hard at work building the most advanced technology to improve the drone operations layer. While we've been working hard to become even more relevant, data-rich, and valuable for the industries we service, a few exciting announcements have hit the press!
Here, we're sharing some of our favorite news stories about DroneBase to date.
TechCrunch - "The LA-based startup has announced that it has closed a $12 million Series B funding round co-led by Upfront Ventures and Union Square Ventures. DJI, Hearst Ventures and Pritzker Group also participated in the round."
UAV Coach - "This new integration means that DroneBase pilots will now be able to get instant airspace authorizations to fly in controlled airspace in those areas where LAANC is already in place (you can see a full list of those airports here). It also means that, as LAANC capabilities are turned on in other areas over the next year, instant airspace authorizations will be available to DroneBase pilots right away within the DroneBase app."
CrunchBase - "Over the past eight years, drone companies have raised a known total of nearly $1.76 billion dollars, with almost $500 million of that funding being raised in 2017 and $96.6 million being raised since the beginning of 2018. According to Crunchbase data, 67 percent of those funding rounds were for seed and early-stage ventures."
Guinn Partners Industry Report - This year's State of the Drone Industry report features DroneBase's Head of Operations, Nick Osgood. In his interview (beginning on page 53 of the 124-page PDF), he discusses industry trends in aerial data, the DroneBase Pilot Network, and more.
Built in LA - "With an eye for fresh funding, top talent and innovative technology, Built In LA has carefully selected 50 young companies — all less than five years old — that we believe will make a significant impact on tech over the next 12 months."
