DroneBase Customer Ordering Guide

By the time prospective and new clients have reached out to us, they have realized the amazing value that can be obtained from using drones in their businesses, especially when partnering with DroneBase. However, the logistics and operations of drone flight are likely brand new territory for most.

In our interactions with both prospective and existing customers, the DroneBase team frequently answers questions about the ins and outs of what we do that tend to fall into a few categorical buckets.

We explain many of these on our FAQ pages, but want to elaborate on some of the more nebulous topics and give more detailed answers to questions that come up often for people new to the drone space.

Below, we'll outline the steps in placing an order to ensure you're getting the location, shots, timing, and everything else you need, exactly how you need it.

Placing an Order

Okay, so you’ve done your due diligence and come to the conclusion that DroneBase is in fact the best choice for your business. Now what?

Requesting a Mission (aka drone flight) happens in a couple different ways, depending on your industry. For commercial real estate and residential real estate, the process is very streamlined so you don’t even need to speak with a person. First, visit your respective industry landing page (each linked to above).

Next, choose the package that best suits your needs. Need only images for an offering memorandum? Choose the Images Package and we'll capture the best angles of your property and the surrounding area (more on that in an upcoming article). Are you looking for videos in addition to the photos to market a beautiful waterfront property? Select the Starter Package. If you want us to take that footage and make an edited marketing video for you, choose the Pro Package option. All the details of each package and links to samples are right there.

Once you've selected a package and clicked “PLACE ORDER”, you'll need to fill in the details about your flight. That pertinent information includes the address (or lat/long) of the location you'd like us to fly, setting the property area so we know exactly which building(s) to capture, choosing your preference for clearer skies or faster turnaround time, and a few other simple steps. Watch this quick video to see a walkthrough of each of those steps:

For other industries, such as construction or insurance, the process is a bit different. Drone services in these spaces vary widely by customer, use case, and more. Obviously the experiences of a customer with one worksite versus one with thousands across the country are going to differ. What they will have in common is great customer service, attention to detail, and industry-best drone operations in either case.

We want to make sure we know exactly what it is you are looking for before we quote the job or make any guarantees, so we ask customers in these industries to fill out a quick form and share more information. This includes contact info, company name, and quick notes about the inquiry. Our team will pass along your info to the appropriate person on our team depending on your answers, ensuring you get the best price and service possible, and you'll be contacted as soon as possible.

Stay tuned for more on scheduling & (optionally) meeting your drone pilot, flight instructions & shot lists (we have crafted the industry's best shot lists over 100,000+ drone flights), and more. In the meantime, you can check out our FAQ for more information, contact us for support, or place your next order!
