It’s already been a busy 2019 for the DroneBase team. Last year, we made significant improvements to both Customer- and Pilot-facing products, as well as many upgrades behind the scenes, and we have an ambitious roadmap again for this year. As always, we're receiving feedback and using it to make the DroneBase experience as seamless and useful as possible for our users.
In 2018, we completely overhauled our Client Dashboard to enable our customers to achieve even more efficiency in their workflows. It wasn't just a cosmetic makeover. Now you can filter and search for Missions by Status, Location, and other factors. There's a Status Timeline for Missions, a more intuitive order flow, the ability to add your own Reference ID, and even Mission Analytics.
Coordinate Input
There were many other improvements made during the year that may not be as obvious as our new Client Dashboard. Customers can now input Latitude and Longitude Coordinates when placing an order rather than an address. This was a frequent request from our Property Development and Construction customers who may be working on a site or parcel of land that does not yet have an address to input.
Increased Capacity for Missions with High-Volume of Assets
As we continue to grow our business and help our customers grow their businesses, the demand for larger volumes of image capture is increasing as well. Our Engineering team has worked hard to stay a few steps ahead on keeping our platform fast and stable while increasing the capability of handling Missions with large numbers of files and/or large file size. This has been vital for customers in Construction, Insurance, and more.
One example of this being a necessity is when clients need a large parking lot inspected, often requiring high-resolution images in the thousands! Behind the scenes, we have a bulk asset uploader, image de-duper, and other technology powering the transfer of assets from our pilots to our platform and then to our customers, either through their Client Dashboard or via our API connection.
Easier Exporting of Missions
For our clients on our API, they get the benefit of having thousands of Mission files piped directly into their workflows, quickly and seamlessly. Some of our customers order large numbers of Missions and/or Missions with a high volume of files, but may not yet have the tech or resources to build into our API.
Now, these customers can easily export a CSV list of Missions with relevant information, share links, and URLs to downloadable Zip files. With just a click, they can have all of their Mission info and folders of their assets at their fingertips.
These are just a few of the recent upgrades we've made to our platform and have plenty more in the pipeline. We want to hear from you so we can continue to make your experience, whether you're a customer or a pilot, as valuable as possible.
